Announcements from
Lodge Members and Officers

This Month at Thelema Lodge

Magick in Theory and Practice: Owing to the flu, the final meeting scheduled for December was converted into a special class on ritual. Bill is back in January to conclude the series with the last of the Theory Chapters from the Book and to lead a discussion on points of interest.
Egyptiana: This month Ebony will elaborate on modern rituals designed by Crowley and the Golden Dawn after Ancient Egyptian Ritual.
Enochiana: David's class this month is on Enochian Grammar. It will cover the finer points of pronunciation, construction and communication.

Stellar Visions: Stellar Visions has a new addition to its book list. The Ritual of Eleusis -- complete with Swinburn & 963 excerpts. A portion of the proceeds from book sales goes to Thelema Lodge. Also in January, Stellar Visions will have Planetary and Astrological oils available. With any luck, Abramelin Oil will be available (yes, we have found a supplier of real Galangal).

Lodge Recycling: Thelema Lodge is now recycling ALUMINUM CANS and GLASS BOTTLES and making $'s toward rent doing it! If you'd like to donate cans or bottles, please bring them by. Help us with the recycling January 17th at 10 AM.

Lodge Cleanup Dates: Mondays in January will be Lodge Clean-up Dates. If you've got the time, we could use the help! Current projects include: Yardwork & cleanup, Household and Temple cleaning, and Roof Repair. If you are skilled in any of these areas, please contact us.

Guest Policy: Participants in December's Lodge Meeting agreed on the following Policy toward Guests: Guests may stay a total of six days at the Lodge in any given month. "Incubation" in the Temple is limited to three days. Guests will be required to wash dishes or perform some kind of household chore daily during their stay. A donation of $5/day is suggested to defray household expenses or one hour of work can be assigned for those less financially endowed. Guesting at the Lodge is a privilege, not a right; and is limited to available space. The Lodge naturally reserves the rights to refuse, to cut short a stay and to maintain the Peace of the Temple. Advance notice is usually needed to take advantage of the opportunity.
Note that the Guest Policy refers to members staying over, not to attendance at Classes and Meetings. The Classes and Meetings are usually free of charge, and open to anyone. Meetings closed to the general public include Initiations and special events noted as limited to particular Degree O.T.O. members on the Calendar. 80% of Thelema Lodge events are open to the public and free! Call the listed phone number with an event to reserve attendance.

Hypatia and Abrahadabra
on the move.

Starting this month Hypatia Camp becomes Alienated (meets at Dii Alieni Camp location). Abrahadabra Camp will meet at Nur Alal Ufuck Oasis location in San Francisco (see the notice page for more information).

For the Record

Several complaints have recently been heard about a IVth Degree member "pulling rank" on members of lower degrees. At this time, no formal written complaint has been received; but O.T.O. policy needs to be stated for the record. Membership in the higher or middle Degrees entitles the member to the respect of common courtesy and symbolic regard. It does not accord any power over the private actions and doings of others! If substantiated, charges of "pulling rank" lead to Suspension and Expulsion for the member seeking to degrade the good name of the Order for personal aggrandizement. If you are approached by a member in Higher Degree, and told that you have to obey him or her for that reason alone, kindly inform the individual that such pomposity belongs where the "Sun don't shine" --- and I do not mean the Sun of Midnight! Officers of Official Bodies and Grand Lodge have powers in their respective spheres, but such powers never include the right to interfere in the private lives of O.T.O. members. Good Report in O.T.O. means fraternal behavior. It does not signify an obligation to heed the braying of asses! If you have been bothered by an O.T.O. member in such a fashion, please contact the Chancellor of the Order, via Thelema Lodge. It is possible that the recent reports are exaggerated; but, if there is a "rank puller" out there, and the matter is serious enough, Grand Lodge would like to see the individual removed from membership. O.T.O. is a Thelemic institution. Nobody has the right to tell you what your Will is. If you are on private ground, you are your own master! If you are visiting, the rules of the place must be reasonable. If need be, the Order will mount a "Twitch Hunt" to find a bad apple.

The Magical Link

Because of a seasonal drop in submissions for publication, the Magical Link will probably have a January-February double issue instead of two separate issues for those months. Official Bodies of the Order, please help out the New York Publications Officer! Report for the Magical Link is currently optional, but you are the main-stay of the Order's regular publication. Send in material for publication to the Agape Lodge New York address. Let's keep the Link a full size and monthly publication. Short articles, reviews and reports of local O.T.O. activity are needed.

In The Continuum.

I.T.C. is a publication of the College of Thelema and has been published regularly at the Equinoxes for 13 years now. Information about the O.T.O. is scattered throughout the issues of I.T.C. More information about the A A can also be found in the issues of Vol. II, Nos. 5 & 9 and Vol. III, No. 5, as well as in various other issues. Information about the College of Thelema can be found in Vol. III, No. 2
There is a description of the symbolism of the Gnostic Catholic Mass and instructions for presenting this ritual in Vol. II, No. 4 This issue of I.T.C. has been invaluable to those interested in staging the Mass and has been used by persons who have a remarkably good presentation of this ritual.
There is a table of contents in Vol. II, No. 10 and also a description of the contents of each issue is being worked up which will show the subject matter presented. Because there is a good deal of invaluable information in all of the issues of In The Continuum it is still a good idea to try to collect all the issues. In each issue there are writings by Crowley, some of which have never been printed before, and some of which are necessary to the general understanding of Thelema and some of which aid the student in his studies.
There are 10 issues in Vol. I, 12 issues in Vol. II and now 10 issues in Vol. III. Each issue is $4.00, which covers the postage. The issues can be collected at any rate and in any amount. We are happy to state that now there are no gaps, and we can supply all of the issues desired. Please make checks payable to Phyllis Seckler, and please write to P.O. Box 415, Oroville, CA 94965, USA.
